How Our Homestead Journey Grew with Passion and Purpose.
My wife and I run a homestead/farm in the Smokey Mountains of Newport, Tennessee. We started out with a few chickens and it grew into a mass of animals and crops. We both have a passion for working together and working to provide for others.
We started with 2 rabbits and quickly it became more. We realized rabbits have so much to offer. We couldn’t wait to expand! They are one of the best sources of fertilizer, which my wife loves for the garden. They are cute and affectionate when you treat them with love and care, and we look forward to seeing them every morning!

How many rabbits do you have on your homestead?
As of right now I have about 50 rabbits on my homestead. Don’t ask me which one is my favorite!
Are rabbits hard to take care of?
Rabbits are surprisingly easy to care for. Contrary to popular belief, they can live on just pellets and water, although most people recommend adding hay. Once you gain their trust, they will become amazing companions.
What is so great about Rabbit Fertilizer?
Rabbit poop is basically the holy grail of fertilizer. Most fertilizer has to break down and decompose, but not rabbit poo AKA bunny berries. You can put it dry into your garden and it can be put to use right away. Yes, people actually do pay me for their poop… Amazing right?
Do the rabbits come vaccinated or neutered?
No and I don’t believe it to be necessary. My rabbits are all healthy and never had vaccines.
Where do you keep your rabbits?
Some of my rabbits are kept in colonies, some are in hutches, and some are in a shed with heat and ac.
